The Orioles finished the season sixteen games over the second place Phillies with 90 wins. It takes a strong pitching staff and a deep lineup to collect so many wins. The Orioles rotation was an integral part of thier success, led by MVP Bill Hoffer at 22 wins and Duke Esper at 20 with George Hemming collecting 18 more. At the plate the Orioles were a close second in hitting with an amazing .341 team average.

"Wee" Willie Keeler collected 255 hits and scored 167 runs, Sam Thompson this year's MVP amased 171 RBI and had a slugging percentage of .638, Ed Delahanty last years MVP hit 50 doubles, and "Sliding" Billy Hamilton stole a record 64 bases. Amos Rusie bested his strikeout record of last year with 151. Kid Nichols and this year's pitching MVP Bill Hoffer tied for the lead in wins with 22. Also Al Maul collected a record 7 shutouts. Although the hitting streak was set last year at 40 by Elmer Smith, Willie Keeler had a good run at the record when he hit safely in 31 games.
