The playoffs consisted of 32 clubs who played 5 rounds to determine the champions. The six division leaders; Arizona Diamonbacks-Analytics, Los Angeles Dodgers-Long Ball, Philadelphia Phillies-Artifical Turf, Bronx Bombers- Lively Ball, New York Giants-Deadball, and Boston Red Sox-Free Agency. Note all of the original 16 major league clubs had teams had one team in the Deadball or Lively Ball divisions as well as teams in the Artifical Turf or Long Ball or Free Agency divisions.
Arizona Diamonbacks winners of the Analytics division who lost in the first round to the Homestead Grays (Negro League) of the Lively Ball division.
The Los Angeles Dodgers winners of the Long Ball division lost in the first round the Cleveland Indians also of the Long Ball division.
The Philadelphia Phillies winners of the Artifical Turf division, lost to the Cleveland Naps of the Deadball division in round one.
The Bronx Bombers (New York Yankees from 1903-1949) winners of the Lively Ball division, lost to the New York Yankees of the Artifical division in round one.
The New York Giants winners of the Deadball division defeated the Hildale Club (Negro League) of the Lively Ball division in round one. Then defeated the Detroit Tigers of the Artifical Turf division in round two. Then they lost to the Detroit Wolverines of the Lively Ball division in round three.
Lastly the Boston Red Sox our champions! Winners of the Free Agency division, defeated the Philadelphia Quakers of the Deadball division in round one. Then swept the Seattle Mariners of the Analytics division in round two. In round three they defeated the Montreal Expos of the Long Ball division in five games. Moving on the finals against the New York Yankees of the Artifical Turf division defeating them in five games to become the champions!
