NL Reliever of the Year Award Winner Named

At the young age of only 26, Jose Bracho has been named the NL Reliever of the Year Award winner for 1954.

The future appears bright for the Milwaukee Braves relief ace, who captured the award with 10 saves in 53 relief appearances, 34 strikeouts in 94 innings and a record of 7-2 to go with his 3.16 ERA.

He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 16. Ellis Kinder of the New York Giants finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Willard Schmidt of the St. Louis Cardinals finished third with 1 first place vote.
