Dodgers Defeat Yankees In Finals

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Yankees in the final series after taking on the Cincinnati Reds in the NLCS and the San Francisco Giants in the NLCs. The Yankees defeated the Houston Astros in the ALCs and the Chicago White Sox in the ALDS. The remaing playoff clubs were the Philadelphia Phillies and the Minnesota Twins.

The Mariners Jud Wilson was the AL batting champ. Josh Gibson and Oscar Charleston and Candy Jim Taylor were tops in the AL HR leaderboard. Dave Brown held the lowest era in the AL. Tea Turner was the NL batting champion. Fernando Tatis Jr. and Billy Williams tied for the NL HR title. Satchel Paige, CIN was the low man on the NL era board and tops in striking batters out.
