League officials announced today that Wally Moon of the St. Louis Cardinals has been selected the 1954 Rookie of the Year Award in the NL.

The talented right fielder finished his first year batting .303 with 13 home runs, 60 RBIs and 123 runs scored.

He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 16. Art Fowler of the Cincinnati Redlegs finished second in voting with 4 first place votes, while Hank Aaron of the Milwaukee Braves finished third.
