Lloyd Hitless, Stopped by Cardinals
Monday, September 25th , 1911
The St. Louis Cardinals clamped down on John Henry Lloyd and put a stop to his hit streak. He went without a hit, ending the run at 20 straight games, but it didn't keep the Phillies from winning. Philadelphia downed the Cardinals, 6-4.

"It was bound to happen," Lloyd said with a shrug after the game.

For the season, Lloyd is currently batting .298 with 6 home runs and 71 RBIs. In 144 games he has reached base at a .343 rate and scored 99 runs to date.
