Lloyd Hits in 20 Straight Games Sunday, September 24th , 1911 Chalk up another one for Philadelphia Phillies shortstop John Henry Lloyd. He now has hit in 20 straight games. Lloyd went 2-for-4 in today's game at League Park but saw his club defeated, 7-1, by the host St. Louis Cardinals. "Playing on the road always makes it harder to get hits and to get wins," Phillies manager said after the game. "We got one of the two, but unfortunately it was the wrong one." John Henry Lloyd grounded out in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, tripled in the 6th and flied out in the 9th. This year, Lloyd is batting .300 with 6 home runs. |
