Integrated Playoffs

1920 marks the dawning of the Negro National League (NNL) in 1920 adds a new demention to the match ups with the MLB. This year starts two more rounds of playoffs matching the top 4 clubs from the newly formed NNL against the top 4 MLB clubs. The four NNL clubs are the same clubs from the previous series’ with the addition of the Kansas City Monarchs. From the majors; Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox, Brooklyn Dodgers, and the New York Giants.

In the Integreated WS the Chicago Whie Sox of the MLB faced off against the Kansas City Monarchs of the NNL. The White Sox defeated the New York Giants in the semi finals after tackling the Brooklyn Dodgers in the first round. The Giants beat the Indians in their first round matchup. The Monarchs defeated the ABCs in the semi final round after eliminating the Stars of Detroit in the first round. The ABCs beat the American Giants in round one.

In the finals the Monarchs defeated the White Sox in the first two contests in Chicago, 3-2, 7-3. The third game the White Sox answered back in a big way winning 20-0! The Monarchs bounced back winning a close game at home 6-5. They then went on to take game five and the series 5-2. 

Rube Curry won five games, and Sam Crawford won all 4 of his contests for the Monarchs in the playoffs. Dicta Johnson was 4-1 for the ABCs. Lefty Williams was 3-2 for the White Sox. 

At the plate George Carr and Dobie Moore collected 19 RBI, and hit 3 homers each for Kansas City. Morten Clark, of Indianapolis collected 15 RBI, and Happy Felsch, of the White Sox had 14 RBI. Eddie Collins, White Sox, Dobie Moore and Bullet Rogan all had 27 hits. 

The Monarchs roster starting with the batters; Hurley McNair, Bartolo Portuondo, George Carr, John Donaldson, Dobie Moore, Bullet Rogan, Vicente Rodriguez, and Jose Mendez.

On the mound; Rube Curry, Sam Crawford, Bullet Rogan, John Donaldson, Jose Mendez, Zack Foreman, and Hugh Blackburn.
