Red Sox Send Held to Philadelphia Saturday, October 16th , 1954 The Boston Red Sox announced a deal with the Phillies today, sending 32-year old SS Sam Dente and 22-year old SS Woodie Held to Philadelphia for 27-year old RHP Ruben Gomez and 23-year old 1B Gail Harris. It had been talked about for the past few weeks and everything came together late last night. All players are expected to be joining their respective clubs shortly. Lifetime Gomez has a 20-20 won-lost record. His career ERA is 4.34. |
