Cincinnati Out of Time, Out of Playoffs Saturday, August 21st , 1954 The baseball world has known for a long time that the Cincinnati Redlegs were not destined for the playoffs this year. But now it is official, as the team was mathematically eliminated from postseason contention today. The Redlegs have missed the playoffs 50 times in their 54 years as a Major League Baseball franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 33rd in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 1921. Cincinnati last won the World Series in 1921. |
