All game long, Boston's Amby McConnell was rattling the walls at Huntington Avenue Grounds and banging out base hits against the Washington Senators. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Red Sox had a win, 16-5.

Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 28-year-old second baseman said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."

Amby McConnell tripled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Dixie Walker in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 6th and hit a two-run single in the 7th.

In his 1911 season totals, McConnell has 1 home run, .250 BA, .297 OBP, 67 RBIs and 40 runs scored.
