Tigers Not Competitive in 7-0 Loss to New York

In an outstanding outing, New York Highlanders starter Ray Fisher tamed the Detroit Tigers with a 7-hit shutout at Hilltop Park. The New York hurler went the distance, finishing with 3 strikeouts and 2 walks in the 7-0 win.
"He had a lot of first-pitch strikes and kept us off balance with a lot of off-speed stuff," according to Detroit manager . "We just didn't get too many balls squared up today."
On the season, Fisher has compiled a 16-15 mark with a 3.21 ERA in 34 starts. In pitching 278 innings he has 138 strikeouts and 95 walks while limiting the opposition to a .258 batting average.
