Razor-Sharp Krause Blanks New York
Monday, September 11th , 1911
The New York Highlanders struggled at the plate against Athletics hurler Harry Krause, who shackled them on 6 hits while hurling a complete-game 4-0 shutout.
"What can you say? We didn't hit well," said Highlanders skipper in postgame comments. "Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow."
Krause finished the game with 2 strikeouts and 3 walks in an excellent mound performance.
"He pitched real well," Philadelphia manager said. "Harry made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively."
This season, Krause has rung up 20 wins and 9 losses in 41 games. He has an ERA of 3.19 and has fanned 153 batters in 291 innings.
