Sisler Goes on Rampage Against Cardinals Tuesday, August 29th , 1916 George Sisler was unstoppable, but the Chicago Cubs were not. Despite his hitting heroics at Robison Field, the Cubs lost, 7-4, to the St. Louis Cardinals. Sisler battered St. Louis for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. His only consolation will be a boost in his batting average and a brief mention in the record book. Sisler just shook his head after the game, telling BNN reporters, "It's the team with the most runs that wins, not the most hits."
