Kansas City Scrapes Out 2-1 Win
In a tight tilt between the Kansas City Royals and the Texas Rangers, Mark Gubicza was the deciding factor. The Kansas City right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. Texas is 4-7 after the defeat.

The decisive blow was delivered by Carlos Beltran in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 31-year old right-handed pitcher Francisco Cordero to win the game for Kansas City. The home crowd went nuts.

"Tough loss," said Texas manager . "This one will stick in my craw."
