Johnson Top-Notch as Mariners Stop Rangers, 2-0

The Seattle Mariners picked up a win at Safeco Field, topping the Texas Rangers, 2-0. On the mound for Seattle was left-hander Randy D Johnson. He played a principal role in the triumph. Kazuhiro Sasaki earned the save for Seattle, his 21st of the year. The third-place Mariners are 46-44.
Johnson made it look effortless. He scattered 2 hits over 7.2 innings, while racking up 12 strikeouts. The Seattle left-hander encountered little resistance from the Texas hitters. His season record is now 8-7.
