Cy Young of the Boston Red Sox was on top of his game.

The 38-year-old tantalized the Toronto Blue Jays with crisp curves and changeups, mixed in with just enough fastballs to keep the batters honest, shutting them out, 5-0.

"He had the changeup working," Toronto manager said in postgame comments. "You knew it was coming and you still grounded out -- and then he threw it even slower."

The Boston hurler had 5 strikeouts, gave up no walks and surrendered 3 hits in his complete-game effort.

Young told reporters after the game that "keeping the ball down is the key to being successful in this league."

"If you don't do that, they'll make you pay," he said.

Currently Young has a record of 5-8 with 91 strikeouts and 15 walks in 118.1 innings and a 3.73 ERA.
