Athletics Pocket 6-1 Win Against Kansas City
|
Due in large part to shortstop Miguel Tejada, the Oakland Athletics sunk the Kansas City Royals, 6-1. Tejada went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. At 45-36, the Athletics claim second place in the American League Western Division.
Al Simmons hit a 2-run double off Greg Holland in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Athletics in front, 2-1. In addition to the double, Simmons had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Simmons told the Oakland Citizen.
