Ruth Leads Yankees to 2-1 Win Over Orioles
In a tight game between the Baltimore Orioles and the New York Yankees, nobody was more important for the winners than Babe Ruth. Ruth was masterful in the 2-1 win. Getting the save was Rich Gossage, his 3rd. New York is now 48-31, Baltimore 39-43.

Bill Dickey cracked a home run off Dave McNally in the bottom of the fourth. His 2-run blast put the Yankees on top, 2-1. In all, Dickey had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.

Dickey told a New York Times reporter that the win made him feel "invigorated."
