Indians Handle Tigers, Grab 4-2 Win
|
The Cleveland Indians picked up a win at Progressive Field, knocking off the Detroit Tigers, 4-2. On the mound for Cleveland was right-hander Stan Coveleski. He played a key role in the triumph. Coveleski picked up the win for Cleveland, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 3-6. Cleveland, now 39-41, holds down 4th place in the American League Central Division.
The Indians got a big at-bat from shortstop Lou Boudreau. For the game, Boudreau was 1 for 3 with a double. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 10th double of the season gave Cleveland a 3-0 lead.
"I put my work in and trusted the process," said Coveleski.
