Astros Even With Yankees After Home Win
|
In a crucial game, the Houston Astros put on their best show, beating the New York Yankees by a final score of 6-4. Howard Easterling went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times. Houston and New York are now tied at 3 wins apiece in the best-of-7 affair.
Brad Ausmus chipped in a 2-run home run for Houston in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
"Ever since we qualified for the playoffs, the guys have been razzing me about how I'm going to embarrass myself out there," the rookie Ausmus said with a smile. "I'm glad to prove them wrong, at least for a day."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
