Critical Game 5 Goes to Host Yankees, 6-2
|
New York Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge was the difference-maker at Yankee Stadium, as he led his club to victory in a pivotal Game 5 of the Round 2. The Yankees took the 6-2 win over the Houston Astros to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.
In the bottom of the fifth, New York center fielder Mickey Mantle had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and two out, Mantle stroked a run-scoring single to left. It made the score 3-2, New York. For the game, he was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Mantle. "You've got to get results."
Game 6 is scheduled for Sunday at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
