Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Minnesota Twins and Chicago White Sox.

The Minnesota Twins topped the Chicago White Sox, 6-4, at U.S. Cellular Field. Minnesota left fielder Kirby Puckett was a spark plug for the offense. He was 3 for 4 with 3 doubles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Joe Nathan converted his 26th save in 33 tries.

Minnesota grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Puckett hit a run-scoring double off Ed Walsh. His 20th double of the season put the Twins out in front, 4-3.

"We'll enjoy this win," said Puckett. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
