Alejandro Oms did all he could to help his team prevail. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Chicago White Sox from losing the game, 7-6, to the Minnesota Twins in 10 innings at Target Field. Oms was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Minnesota reliever Joe Nathan picked up the win, upping his record to 6-0. Doc White absorbed the loss. Minnesota is now 44-36, while Chicago is 40-37.

The Twins got a clutch hit from first baseman Rod Carew. In the bottom of the tenth, he hit a run-scoring single to center, to win the game for the Twins.

"What a buzz," said Carew after it was over.
