The skies opened up and the rain fell at Kauffman Stadium.

Benefiting from Oscar Charleston's productive game, the Minnesota Twins downed the Kansas City Royals, 5-2. Charleston was 2 for 2 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Twins. With the win, Minnesota raised its record to 41-34.

With Minnesota leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth, Charleston hit a curveball from Kevin Appier for a 3-run home run. It was his 18th home run of the season and put the Twins ahead, 5-1.

"We've been playing some good baseball," Charleston told the Minnesota Bulletin. "We're aggressive and focused on what we're going to do on the field and getting it done."
