Rangers Stymie Detroit, Take 2-0 Win
|
Behind an impressive start by Dick Bosman, Texas beat Detroit, 2-0. Detroit is 1-4 after the defeat.
Newt Joseph had a big run-scoring double for the Rangers in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Texas leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Jack Morris and swatted a double to left. It was his 1st double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rangers ahead, 2-0.
"Not everyone likes pitching duels," said Joseph. "But I do."
