The Texas Rangers topped the Tampa Bay Rays, 10-7, with designated hitter Newt Joseph playing a big role. Joseph went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for the Rangers in the win. Jeff Russell earned his 13th save, after closing out the game. At 26-41, the Rangers find themselves in last place in the American League Western Division.
Nelson R Cruz contributed to the Texas win with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
