White Sox Walk Off with 2-1 Win
|
The New York Yankees got a superb performance from pitcher Ron Guidry. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Chicago. The White Sox won the game, 2-1. Guidry threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The first-place White Sox are now 38-32, the Yankees 40-27.
The White Sox got a clutch hit from right fielder Heavy Johnson. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the White Sox.
