Red Sox Take Tight Tango, 2-1
|
Boston took on Cleveland in a contest which featured a pitchers' duel. Dutch H Leonard, in particular, was fantastic. The left-hander helped the Red Sox snag the win, 2-1, in 12 innings. The Red Sox raised their record to 35-36.
The climactic moment came in the bottom of the 12th for Boston. That's when Luke Easter, who is tied for 5th in the AL in bases on balls with 31, hit a run-scoring double off Addie Joss to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.
"They were just a little bit better than us," Cleveland manager said.
