Hernandez, Mariners Get 1-0 Win
|
Safeco Field was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
Seattle turned a good performance from starting pitcher Felix Hernandez into a 1-0 triumph over the Minnesota Twins at Safeco Field. Earning his 16th save of the year was Kazuhiro Sasaki.
Hernandez gave Seattle a blue-ribbon performance. The 6-foot-3 right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 8 innings of work.
"Ball felt good coming out of my hand the whole night," said Hernandez.
Seattle is now 32-34.
