Houston Win Brings Series to 2-2
|
The Houston Astros took down the New York Yankees by the score of 3-1 and moved into a 2-2 tie in the Round 2. The largest share of the credit belongs to Houston starter Gerrit Cole, who threw 6.1 innings allowing 1 run.
Houston used the timely hitting of Bonnie Serrell to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Astros on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Gerrit gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Houston skipper .
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Yankee Stadium in New York.
