Thrice as Nice: Cincinnati On Verge of Sweep after Walk-off Win

When the games really matter, the Cincinnati Reds put on their best show, beating the Philadelphia Phillies by a final score of 2-1. Aaron Nola threw 6.0 innings of 1-hit ball. Cincinnati now leads Philadelphia 3-0 in the best-of-7 affair.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Cincinnati second baseman Bid McPhee, facing Ron Reed, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Reds the 2-1 win.
"They say the first rule of the playoffs is to win the home games," McPhee said afterward. "It feels nice, but it is kind of what we were supposed to do."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati.
