Twins Lose 6-4 Decision to Chicago
The Minnesota Twins got a sterling performance from third baseman Cecil Travis, but the Chicago White Sox still prevailed, 6-4. Travis was 3 for 4 with a triple and a double, while scoring 3. The first-place White Sox lifted their record to 75-61.

Chicago used a well-timed hit by George Scales to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the White Sox ahead, 5-3. Though it was his only hit in 1 at-bat, it was important.

"What's not to like about a win?" said Scales.
