The Minnesota Twins and Texas Rangers squared off at Target Field.

The Minnesota Twins topped the Texas Rangers, 6-2, in American League action at Target Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Minnesota pitcher Roy Welmaker. Today's win puts Minnesota at 33-33, while Texas falls to 25-38.

Kirby Puckett had a big 2-run home run for the Twins in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Minnesota leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a slider from 25-year old right-handed pitcher Dick Bosman and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Twins on top, 3-0.
