Cleveland used a well-timed hit by Al Smith to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Indians ahead, 3-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Smith said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."
