Ruth, Yankees Wallop Astros in Game 1 of R2
|
The New York Yankees started the Round 2 in style, winning on the road against the Houston Astros at Minute Maid Park by a score of 6-2 to take an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Yankees designated hitter Babe Ruth excelled. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball.
New York used the hitting of Aaron Judge to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Yankees on top, 3-0. For the game, Judge had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I thought we played a nice game," Judge told the New York Times. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Minute Maid Park in Houston.
