Carl Yastrzemski knocked in all 3 runs for the Boston Red Sox, helping them beat the Baltimore Orioles, 3-2. Tom Gordon snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits over 1.1 innings. He's now 4-1 on the season. Boston, now 27-31, holds down third place in the American League Eastern Division.

Yastrzemski had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-0 screwball from Mike Cuellar, he banged a solo home run to center, giving the Red Sox a 3-2 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Yastrzemski.

"It'd be nice to win by four or five runs," Yastrzemski said, "instead of holding our breath the whole game."
