With 8-2 Win, White Sox Go to 31-26

Spirited fans greeted the Toronto Blue Jays for their clash with the Chicago White Sox.
The Chicago White Sox defeated the Toronto Blue Jays, 8-2, in American League action at Rogers Centre. Chicago pitcher Ed Walsh had a standout performance. Walsh, now 3-3, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 3, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs.
Chicago used the hitting of Heavy Johnson to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the White Sox on top, 2-0. For the game, Johnson had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"The effort wasn't good enough," said losing manager .
At 31-26, the White Sox find themselves in first place in the American League Central Division.
