The Toronto Blue Jays defeated the Kansas City Royals, 6-3. First Baseman Carlos Delgado deserved a large share of the credit. Delgado went 2-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Blue Jays. Toronto reliever Paul Quantrill picked up the win, while Dan Quisenberry took the loss for Kansas City. Duane Ward earned the save for Toronto, his 5th of the year.

Toronto took a 4-2 lead on Vladimir Guerrero Jr.'s 3rd double of the season. The 2-run double, which Guerrero Jr. hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Kansas City pitcher Dan Quisenberry visibly frustrated.

"We did a lot of things right," said Delgado.

The loss lowers the Kansas City record to 3-3.
