Gerrit Cole, who is tied for 2nd in the AL in innings pitched with 81.0, had a strong outing for the Houston Astros against the Baltimore Orioles at Minute Maid Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-2 win. Picking up the save was Larry Andersen, his 16th. Houston, at 36-17, is cruising.
Richard Hidalgo took Baltimore hurler Urban Shocker deep in the bottom of the fourth. His 3-run home run put the Astros on top, 4-2. In all, Hidalgo had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
