Despite the exploits of first baseman Kendry Morales, the Los Angeles Angels were beaten by the Chicago White Sox, 7-6, in 10 innings. Morales was 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Chicago is now 29-24, Los Angeles 22-28.

With runners on 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the tenth, Shoeless Joe Jackson delivered the knockout blow when he hit a run-scoring single to win it for Chicago. In the contest, Jackson was 3 for 5 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk.

Jackson told a Chicago Gazette reporter that he felt "like dancing the hula" after the win.
