Indians Get Dramatic 4-3 Triumph
|
The Cleveland Indians faced a tough opponent in Chicago pitcher Ed Walsh, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Progressive Field by a final score of 4-3. Walsh went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Cleveland reliever Addie Joss picked up the win, while Hoyt Wilhelm took the loss for Chicago. The last-place Indians bumped their record to 20-26.
Lou Boudreau was the walk-off hero for Cleveland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Indians shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"That game was intense," Boudreau said.
