Hisashi Iwakuma had a strong outing for the Seattle Mariners against the Texas Rangers at Rangers Ballpark in Arlington. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 3-2 win. Seattle reliever Norm Charlton picked up the win, upping his record to 2-1. Bullet Rogan absorbed the loss. J J Putz finished to wrap up his 1st save.

Seattle used the timely hitting of Jud Wilson to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Mariners on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Every loss stings," said Texas manager . "This one is no exception."

Seattle is now 21-25, while Texas is 20-26.
