Yankees Make It 6 in a Row with 4-2 Win

The home crowd came to cheer on their first-place New York Yankees.
The New York Yankees defeated the Cleveland Indians, 4-2, in American League action at Yankee Stadium. New York pitcher Ron Guidry had a standout performance. Mariano Rivera nailed down his 13th save.
Tony Lazzeri took Cleveland hurler Jose Mesa deep in the bottom of the sixth. His 2-run home run put the Yankees on top, 4-2. In all, Lazzeri had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
Said losing manager : "The at-bats, obviously, needed to be better."
The Yankees have now reeled off 6 straight wins.
