Twins Best Red Sox in Pitching Duel

Fenway Park hosted a real pitchers' duel.
Minnesota Twins pitcher Roy Welmaker was in fine form, leading his team past the Boston Red Sox, 2-0. Minnesota reliever Johan Santana, who is rated as the 81st best prospect by BNN, was credited with the win. His record goes to 2-0. Dutch H Leonard took the loss for Boston.
Oscar Charleston, who is tied for 3rd in the AL with a .382 on-base percentage, chipped in a solo home run for Minnesota in the top of the seventh. For the game, the center fielder had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"Roy kept his poise and got the job done," said Minnesota manager . "He was outstanding."
