Mariners Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Angels, 3-2
The Mariners grabbed a win, 3-2, at Safeco Field, overcoming a fine effort from Los Angeles pitcher Dean Chance. Chance went 6.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Seattle reliever Norm Charlton picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Jered Weaver took the loss. David Aardsma got credit for the save for Seattle. It was his 1st of the year.

Had Jud Wilson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Wilson hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Mariners.

"We put together a nice win," Wilson said.

Seattle has won 3 straight, while Los Angeles has lost 3 in a row.
