In a tight tilt between the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles, Ron Guidry was the deciding factor. The New York left-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Picking up the save was Mariano Rivera, his 10th. The win puts the Yankees at 22-17, while the Orioles drop to 21-21.

New York used a clutch at-bat from Graig Nettles to capture the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Yankees ahead, 3-2. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I had pretty good command out there," said Guidry.
