Orioles Land Close Win
|
The Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees duked it out at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
Thanks in large part to left fielder Clint Thomas, the Baltimore Orioles clipped the New York Yankees, 5-4, in 14 innings. Thomas was 3-5 with a home run, 2 doubles, and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Baltimore reliever Erik Bedard snagged the win, upping his record to 1-1. Lindy McDaniel shouldered the loss.
Thomas dealt the big blow in the bottom of the 14th. That's when he launched a solo home run off New York pitcher Lindy McDaniel to win it for the Orioles.
"That was a lot of fun, watching both teams compete," said Orioles manager .
Baltimore is now 20-20, while New York is 21-16.
