Al Smith added some punch to the Cleveland offense, helping them outmuscle the Texas Rangers, 8-7. In the game, Smith went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, while scoring 4 times. Picking up the save was Addie Joss, his 7th. The Rangers fall to 15-19 and continue their lethargic start to the 2014 season.

Cleveland took the lead, 7-5, on Bill Bradley's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run came off Texas pitcher Charlie Hough in the top of the eighth.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Indians manager . "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
