DiMaggio Blasts White Sox, Yankees Take Game 5, 5-3
New York left fielder Joe DiMaggio was the key at U.S. Cellular Field, as he powered the Yankees to victory in a critical Game 5 of the Round 1. The Yankees took the 5-3 win over the Chicago White Sox to seize a 3-2 lead in the best-of-7 series.

DiMaggio had a key at-bat in the top of the fourth to put New York in front, 3-0. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run off Chicago pitcher Eddie Cicotte.

"Huge," DiMaggio said. "Game 5 is huge."

Game 6 is scheduled for Friday at Yankee Stadium in New York.
